<poem> Humans take their own lives because of overwhelming emotions— Some say it’s a fire in the throat, Some say it’s gold turned to dust, Some say it’s a hunger that devours itself.

Humans take their own lives because of overwhelming emotions— Mark Antony felt the blade and called it love. Elagabalus drowned in silk and perfume. Sejanus watched shadows move before they reached him.

Humans take their own lives because of emptiness— Some say it’s a body without a shadow, Some say it’s a mirror that swallows its own reflection, Some say it’s silence thick as stone.

Humans take their own lives because of emptiness— Tiberius drank the stillness of Capri. Nero played a song no one would hear twice. Augustulus vanished like ink in water.

But a human needs both— Feast and famine, excess and absence, For he cannot survive on just one.

History has witnessed it. Look behind you— Perhaps it already has </poem>
