Some say it’s silence thick as stone.

Humans take their own lives because of emptiness—
Tiberius drank the stillness of Capri.
Nero played a song no one would hear twice.
Augustulus vanished like ink in water.

But a human needs both—
Feast and famine, excess and absence,
For he cannot survive on just one.

History has witnessed it.
Look behind you—
Perhaps it already has
